Since its founding in 1867 the scope of the college has evolved but its purpose remains largely the same: advancing scientific knowledge that makes life better, healthier, safer, and more profitable for people in Illinois and beyond. The brilliant futures campaign will be a major source of funding for our five major initiatives:
- enhance and expand our global efforts
- provide experiential learning and teaching
- ensure leadership development for our students
- attract and retain the best faculty through endowments
- create new facilities and refurbish outdated ones
