Creating opportunities for students and youth to acquire essential life skills is key to developing career-ready graduates and productive adults contributing to the advancement of their professions and communities. Key areas of emphasis include 4-H, experiential learning, student research opportunities, and establishment of the ACES Leadership Academy.

The College of ACES is a leader in discovery, translation, and transformation in a broad spectrum of topics impacting society. Infrastructure, faculty positions, and research support influence the college’s role in serving the people of Illinois and impacting economic development.
Educational programs and shared spaces benefit agricultural producers, business professionals, and the public. High priorities for funding are Extension programming, including 4-H; the University of Illinois Arboretum; and numerous multidisciplinary outreach efforts.
